'Rahul Gandhi declaring himself PM candidate nothing but arrogance,' says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took a strong jibe at Congress President Rahul Gandhi declaring himself prime ministerial candidate, saying it is nothing but arrogance. PM Modi was addressing an election rally in Bangarpete on the last day campaign on Wednesday.

In a veiled attack against Rahul Gandhi, PM said, "Yesterday someone made an important declaration- he said, "I am going to be PM!" He came like those bullies, barging his way ahead when there are others who have many years of experience. How can someone just declare himself as the PM? This is simply nothing but arrogance."

"Congress has not done justice to the aspirations of the people of Karnataka. It is time for Congress' departure from Karnataka," PM said.

PM Modi took the attack against Congress on new level, saying, "There are the six evils that the Congress has brought on the nation - Congress culture - Communalism, Casteism, Crime, Corruption, Contractor system."

Congress is only interested in deals. I'm not saying this. It's a Congress MP and former CM (Karnataka) Veerappa Moily who said this. When tickets were sold, he said that Congress will have to solve their 'money problem' and also blamed PWD Minister for deal-making.

Meanwhile, PM Modi struck a chord with Dalit community. He assured the BJP will not play with reservation system. He said, "Congress is spreading lies about BJP. The Congress alleged that the BJP will end reservation system. But what happened?, Did Vajapayeeji touch the reservation system? No," he said.

"On the contrary, we have strengthened the SC/ST protection act to safeguard dalits against violence," he added.
