Rahul Gandhi Engages with Rural Family During Haryana Campaign Visit to Sonipat

During his campaign in Haryana, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited a rural family in Sonipat district. A video shared by the party shows Gandhi, along with Congress leaders Deepender Singh Hooda and Bajrang Punia, being welcomed by women singing traditional songs. The visit took place at a modest home in Barwasni village, where the family prepared food on a mud stove.

Gandhi, dressed in his usual white T-shirt, joined Hooda and Punia for a meal that included rotis, vegetables, and a glass of lassi. Congress MP Satpal Brahamchari from Sonipat was also present during this visit. The women in the household discussed various issues with Gandhi, expressing concerns about children's safety and the growing drug problem in Haryana.

Campaigning Efforts and Local Concerns

One woman highlighted the unemployment issue, noting that young graduates struggle to find jobs, leading them to social problems. In response to concerns about drugs, Gandhi acknowledged that while it was once a problem mainly in Punjab, it has now spread to Haryana. Meanwhile, Bajrang Punia demonstrated wrestling techniques to a young aspiring wrestler in the family.

Gandhi's campaign in Haryana continued for the second day as part of his efforts ahead of the state's elections on October 5. On Tuesday, he campaigned in both Jhajjar and Sonipat districts. During a rally in Gohana, Sonipat, he shared his experience of tasting Matu Ram halwais jalebi and expressed his delight by messaging his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Promoting Local Delicacies

Gandhi humorously mentioned that he had eaten the best jalebi of his life and promised to bring some for Priyanka. He also told Deepender Singh Hooda and Bajrang Punia that this jalebi should be shared worldwide. He emphasized that selling Matu halwais jalebi across India and exporting it could create more job opportunities.

The upcoming elections on October 5 are crucial for Congress as they aim to regain power from the BJP. The results will be announced on October 8. Gandhi's campaign efforts focus on addressing local issues while promoting regional specialties like jalebi to boost employment.
