Rahul Gandhi Alleges Systematic Voter Manipulation, Promises Evidence of “Stolen Elections”
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has levelled serious allegations of large-scale voter manipulation in India, claiming that elections are being "stolen" through systematic deletion and addition of voters. Speaking at Parliament House, he declared that his party has identified the mechanism behind what he termed "vote theft" in a Karnataka Lok Sabha seat and plans to publicly release the findings.
The revelations come amid growing scrutiny of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, a voter roll update exercise that Rahul claims is being misused to disenfranchise voters from marginalised communities. Citing data from Bihar, he highlighted that over 52 lakh voters were found missing from their addresses, with another 18 lakh recorded as deceased. Similar anomalies were flagged in Maharashtra, where nearly one crore new voters allegedly appeared on the rolls-raising red flags about potential manipulation.

Rahul further alleged that the Election Commission and government authorities are altering laws to curb transparency, including restricting access to electoral rolls and videography protocols. "In Karnataka, we digitised one constituency's voter list and analysed it over six months. What we found was a massive theft of votes-new names were inserted, genuine voters deleted," he said.
He accused the new system being implemented in Bihar of targeting Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, and minority voters, calling it a "calculated disenfranchisement" under the guise of administrative revision.
The INDIA bloc, including Congress and other opposition parties, has taken a firm stand against the SIR process, both inside and outside Parliament. "We exposed match-fixing in Maharashtra," Rahul posted on X. "Now, we'll present proof from Karnataka."
