Rahul Gandhi Accuses PM Modi Of Shielding Adani, Demands Billionaire's Arrest Following US Indictment
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday demanded the immediate arrest of Gautam Adani and called for an investigation into his 'protector', Madhabi Puri Buch.
"It is now pretty clear and established in America that Mr Adani has broken both American law and Indian law. He has been indicted in the United States, and I am wondering why Mr Adani is still running around as a free man in this country?" Gandhi questioned.

Speaking at a press conference in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the recent developments vindicated his long-standing allegations against the billionaire.
"We have been raising this issue again and again, especially regarding Madhabi Buch. This is a vindication of what we have been saying. The Prime Minister is protecting Mr Adani, and the Prime Minister is involved in corruption with Mr Adani. This is becoming increasingly clear," Gandhi stated.
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Ek hain to safe hain' slogan, Gandhi added that as long as the Prime Minister and Gautam Adani were together, they would remain safe in India.
"No action will be taken against Adani in India. Chief ministers have been jailed for scams worth ₹10-15 crore, but Gautam Adani, who has committed a scam of ₹2,000 crore, is walking free. He should be arrested immediately, and his protector, Madhabi Puri Buch, should be removed and investigated for not taking action," Gandhi further remarked.
The Congress leader also mentioned that he would raise the issue of Gautam Adani's alleged corruption during the upcoming winter session of Parliament, which is set to begin on Monday.
This statement follows US prosecutors charging Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, with alleged involvement in a scheme to pay over $250 million in bribes to Indian government officials in exchange for solar energy contracts.
