PV Narasimha Rao's Kin Express Gratitude to PM Modi for Bharat Ratna
On Tuesday, the family of the late Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Hyderabad, expressing their gratitude for the posthumous awarding of the Bharat Ratna to Rao. The meeting, which took place at Raj Bhavan and lasted approximately 30 minutes, was a significant moment for both parties involved.

The attendees from Rao's family included his son P.V. Prabhakar Rao, daughter and BRS MLC Vani Devi, son-in-law K.R. Nandan, a retired IPS officer, and grandson N.V. Subhash, who is also a leader within the BJP. The gathering was an opportunity for the family to personally thank the Prime Minister and the Government of India for recognizing Narasimha Rao's contributions to the nation with its highest civilian honor.
Prime Minister Modi shared insights from the meeting on social media platform X, highlighting the extensive discussions that took place. Topics ranged from India's progress in recent years to the richness of Indian culture and traditions. Modi described the meeting as "excellent" and noted the family's joy over India's advancements.
N.V. Subhash, speaking on behalf of Rao's family, emphasized that the meeting was a gesture of thanks towards Modi for honoring Narasimha Rao with the Bharat Ratna. He revealed that discussions with Modi covered a broad spectrum of subjects including travel, education, science and technology, finance, Sanatan Dharma, and contemporary politics.
Subhash reflected on the meeting with warmth, stating, "It was a great feeling for all of us as we felt that we were interacting with our family member." This sentiment underscores the personal significance of the meeting for Rao's family members.
The visit by Modi to Hyderabad was not solely for this meeting; he is scheduled to address election rallies in Telangana on Wednesday. The interaction with Narasimha Rao's family was a poignant reminder of the former Prime Minister's enduring legacy and his contributions to India's development.
