Punjab Police Launches Statewide Crackdown On Gangster Goldy Brar's Network

The Punjab Police on Thursday initiated a wide-ranging operation across several districts to apprehend the close associates of wanted gangster Satinderjeet Singh, alias Goldy Brar. He stands accused in connection with the murder of the late singer Sidhu Moose Wala. Brar is suspected to be evading authorities in Canada and is believed to have links with pro-Khalistan extremists. This operation is currently underway in districts including Moga, Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, and Amritsar rural.

Goldy Brar, who is facing a minimum of 13 cases related to crimes such as murder and arms smuggling, is also thought to have affiliations with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He is the subject of an Interpol red-corner notice and has been declared a wanted individual by intelligence agencies in both Canada and India.

This police action follows closely on the heels of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) intensifying its efforts against pro-Khalistan elements. The NIA recently announced cash rewards for those who provide information about five members of the terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

In a concerted effort to dismantle the links between terrorism and gangsterism in the country, the investigative agency also released a list of 54 individuals, complete with their photographs, who are wanted in connection with two cases. This list includes the names of gangsters such as Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh Gill, in addition to Goldy Brar.

The police operation started at 7 am today and will continue throughout the day. The findings from this operation will be submitted to the additional deputy general of police at 5 pm.
