Punjab Launches ‘Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana’: ₹1000–₹1500 Monthly Support For Women

The Punjab government has launched the 'Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana' from the Adampur Assembly constituency in Jalandhar district, focusing on the economic empowerment of women.

The scheme aims to provide dignity and security to women across the state by offering regular financial assistance.

Under the scheme, eligible women will receive a monthly amount of ₹1000 to ₹1500. This financial support will help women manage their daily expenses and reduce their dependence on family members, thereby promoting self-reliance.

Phased Implementation of the Scheme

The 'Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana' is being implemented in phases to ensure smooth administration.

The pilot project will begin on April 15, 2026, covering 9 assembly constituencies, where registrations will start and initial arrangements will be tested.

After the first phase, the scheme will be expanded to the remaining 108 assembly constituencies from May 15, 2026. This gradual rollout is aimed at addressing operational challenges and ensuring that information about the scheme reaches every eligible woman.
Registration Centres and Facilities
To make the registration process easy, more than 26,000 centres have been set up across Punjab. Women can visit these centres to submit their documents and apply for the scheme.
The government aims to ensure that no woman is left out due to lack of information or distance from registration centres.

Officials have stated that efforts are being made to take the scheme door-to-door so that maximum beneficiaries can enroll. The administration believes that the scheme will strengthen the financial condition of women and increase their confidence and dignity in society, leading to broader social change.
