Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Condemns Attack on Arvind Kejriwal as Shameful and Disgraceful

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed strong disapproval of an incident involving a liquid being thrown at AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. He described the alleged attack on the former Delhi chief minister as deeply disgraceful. The incident occurred on Saturday evening when Kejriwal was greeting people behind a barrier, and a man approached him to splash the liquid.

Mann Condemns Attack on Kejriwal

Following the incident, security personnel quickly subdued the individual involved. Both Kejriwal and his security team were seen wiping their faces afterward. Chief Minister Mann commented that since Kejriwal started questioning the BJP about law and order in Delhi, they have become increasingly frustrated. He stated, "This attack is a direct result of that frustration."

Condemnation from AAP Leaders

Mann further criticised the BJP, stating it resorts to violence whenever it fails to meet its responsibilities. He noted that this was the third attack on Kejriwal in just 35 days. AAP Punjab president Aman Arora also condemned the incident, asserting that such attacks on their party leader would not be tolerated.

Arora emphasised that the public is observing these events closely. He mentioned that Delhi residents would respond to what he termed as a heinous act by the BJP. He questioned how the BJP could ensure citizens' safety if they cannot protect a former chief minister.

This incident has raised concerns about the BJP-led central government's ability to maintain law and order. Arora highlighted that attempts to intimidate AAP leaders in this manner are unacceptable and reflect poorly on the ruling party's governance.

The situation underscores ongoing tensions between political parties over security and governance issues in Delhi. The reactions from AAP leaders indicate their resolve to stand firm against such acts of aggression.
