Puducherry: AIADMK legislator among 150 arrested for protesting
Puducherry, Feb 9: AIADMK MLA A Anbalagan and around 150 party workers were taken into custody on Monday after they launched a road roko here demanding that government distribute housing subsidy to the scheduled castes of Uppalam constituency without delay.

The official assured that the applications would be considered and subsidy sanctioned. But the legislator and a team of workers insisted that the Secretary to the department meet them and extend the assurance.
With the official not turning up, the legislator and his supporters launched road roko on the Puducherry-Tindivanam route holding up traffic for nearly half an hour.
Police intervened and took Anbalagan and the workers, including women into custody.They were later released, police added.
