Pucho App To Financial Aid For Daughter's Marriage: Arvind Kejriwal Meets Delhi Auto Drivers, Makes 5 Promises

Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), recently met with Delhi's autorickshaw drivers at his residence. This meeting was part of his campaign strategy for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Kejriwal, along with his wife Sunita, also visited an autorickshaw driver named Navneet for lunch.

During the meeting, Kejriwal announced five significant promises to support autorickshaw drivers. He pledged that the Delhi government would provide Rs 1 lakh when an auto driver's daughter gets married and Rs 2,500 for clothing during Holi and Diwali. Additionally, he promised accident insurance of Rs 5 lakhs and life insurance of Rs 10 lakhs.

Support for Auto Drivers

Kejriwal further assured that tuition fees for the children of auto drivers would be waived. He also mentioned plans to relaunch the Pucho App, which is intended to benefit this community. These measures aim to address the financial and educational needs of auto drivers' families.

On Monday, Kejriwal expressed his connection with auto drivers on X, stating, "Today, I invited my auto driver brothers to my house for tea and talked to them openly. Sharing joys and sorrows with them is very special for me. I have an old and deep relationship with them."

He added that their struggles and dedication have always motivated him. Kejriwal emphasised that he has consistently worked towards their welfare and will continue to do so in the future. This engagement highlights AAP's focus on strengthening ties with a key voter base.

AAP's Election Strategy

The AAP is ramping up its efforts to connect with voters as the Delhi Assembly elections approach in February 2024. The party aims to secure a third consecutive term after its overwhelming victory in 2020 when it won 62 out of 70 seats.

An auto driver expressed gratitude after meeting Kejriwal, saying, "Till date, no one has given us, the auto drivers, as much respect as Arvind Kejriwal has." This sentiment reflects the strong bond between AAP and this community since the party's inception.
