Protesting against beef ban, Dalit organizations to eat beef in public
Bengaluru, April 9: Protesting against beef ban, some Dalit organisations have organized a beef eating programme in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Renowned playwright and actor Girish Karnad has also been invited to attend the function and eat beef as a protest against the beef ban by the Maharashtra government.

Another famous Kannada theatre personality Dr K Marulasiddappa has also been invited to the protest.
The protest has been organized outside Town Hall in the centre of Bengaluru.
Beef ban has already sparked protests from political and cultural groups, alleging it amounted to encroachment on individual choices and eating habits of large sections of people, especially the minority communities.
Maharashtra Government has recently banned sale and consumption of beef and imposed a five-year jail term for cow slaughter in the State.
