Protesters Block Delhi-Agra Highway After Alleged Cattle Smugglers Kill ‘Farsa Wale Baba

A tensed situation occurred at Delhi-Agra highway near Mathura after alleged cow smugglers killed cow vigilante (Gau Rakshak) Chandrashekhar, also known as "Farsa Wale Baba" on Saturday. According to the reports, smugglers ran over their vehicle over Chandrashekhar when he was trying to stop smugglers.

Soon after the news of Gau Rakshak's killing went viral, a large crowd gathered and blocked the Delhi-Agra National Highway, bringing vehicular moment at halt. Protesters sat on the road, raised slogans, and demanded immediate action against those responsible, leading to long traffic jams stretching for several kilometres.

Reacting swiftly, the local police reached the spot of the incident to control the crowd.

Sources also reported incidents of stone pelting at the police when they were trying to move protesters from the road.

According to police, Chandrashekhar was allegedly run over by a vehicle linked to suspected cow smugglers in the early hours. The incident reportedly took place when he was chasing the accused vehicle, resulting in his death on the spot.

The protest has added to tensions in the area, with officials now under pressure to quickly identify and arrest those involved, even as efforts continue to ease the disruption on the highway.
