Kashmir: Protest in Anantnag after militant's death
A protest broke out in south Kashmir's Anantnag district after a local militant Basit Rasool was killed in a gunfight near Bijbehara.
Srinagar, Dec 14: A protest broke out in south Kashmir's Anantnag district after a separatist guerrilla was killed in a gunfight with the security forces on Wednesday.
Basit Rasool, a local militant, was killed in a gunfight in Hadigam village near Bijbehara town on Wednesday, police said here.

According to the army, a weapon and some ammunitions were recovered from the militant, and a search operation was on in the area.
Basit belonged to Marhama village in the district. He was pursuing Bachelor of Technology course at the Islamic University of Science and Technology in Anantnag district before joining militancy.
Protests broke out in Bijbehara and adjoining areas immediately after the news of the militant's death spread.
