Prohibitory orders in Meerut till May 31
Meerut, Apr 19: Prohibitory orders have been imposed in Meerut district till May 31 ahead of the famous Nauchandi Mela and elections to the Cantt Board, an official said on April 18.
District Magistrate Pankaj Yadav said Section 144 of CrPC has been put in place in all 29 police station areas here till May 31.

The action has been taken keeping in view the Nauchandi fair till May 15 and elections to Meerut Cantt Board on May 17 as well as competitive exams organised by Public Service Commission, Yadav said.
Strict implementation of the orders will be ensured, Yadav said.
