Prof Kalburgi murder: Team heads to Kolhapur to probe case
Bengaluru, Sept 1: The CID which is probing the murder of Professor M M Kalburgi has formed four teams.
One team is headed towards Kolhapur in Maharashtra as there are lurking doubts that some team from there could have hired people to execute this murder, sources informed OneIndia.

Prima facie it appears to be a case of contract killing the police have learnt. We have formed four teams who will look into every angle including personal ones the source also informed.
Four teams formed
The Karnataka CID has formed four teams to probe into the death of Professor Kalburgi.
One team is headed towards Kolhapur in Maharashtra in search for links.
Maharashtra has seen the murders of similar nature and hence the police want to probe into the matter further.
The other teams will probe the extremist angle and also find out if there was any property related issues which could have led up to the murder.
Professor Kalburgi's daughter had however ruled out any property dispute. Shortly after the murder of her father she had said that there was no property dispute that her father was involved in.
Person who justified Kalburgi murder gets bail
Meanwhile, the person who had justified the murder of Professor Kalburgi has got bail and is released.
Bhuvith Shetty who had justified the murder on his twitter profile was arrested in Buntwal near Mangalore yesterday. However after questioning he was granted bail.
Meanwhile, the state government has written to the CBI seeking to know if the agency could probe the matter.
The government which handed over the probe to the CID yesterday also wrote to the CBI.
The government wants to know from the CBI if it could probe into the case taking into account the sensitivity involved.
The CBI would now consult with the Union Home Ministry before taking a final call on whether to probe the matter or not.
