Priyanka Gandhi's 'Palestine' Bag Sparks Uproar On Social Media: 'She Should Fire Her Advisors'
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi was recently photographed carrying a bag reportedly displaying the word 'Palestine'.
The undated image, which shows Priyanka smiling and glancing over her shoulder with the bag, was shared on social media platform X by Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed on Monday, December 16.

The post triggered immediate reactions, with some users criticising Priyanka Gandhi's choice to carry the bag. One user disapproved of her decision, stating that it was inappropriate to support an organisation like Hamas on Vijay Diwas, the day India, under former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, defeated Pakistani forces in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh).
Priyanka Gandhi is the granddaughter of Indira Gandhi.
The comment read: "She should immediately fire her advisors..."
Conversely, the post garnered support as well. Within the first 10 minutes, it received 23 likes on X.
The debate comes at a time when Palestine is embroiled in an ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The war began in October last year after Hamas attacked Israeli territory, resulting in the massacre of over a thousand Israelis. In response, Israeli forces launched a large-scale military operation, entering Palestinian territories.
The conflict has led to the deaths of thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, with reports of clashes even inside hospitals between Israeli forces and Hamas militants. While the world initially condemned Hamas' attack, international sentiment began shifting following reports of widespread human rights violations. The war continues with no lasting resolution in sight, prompting global voices to express solidarity with Palestinian civilians.
