Private Videos Of Women Patients Leaked From Gujarat Hospital: Telegram Account Sells Clips For Rs 999

In a shocking incident, videos of women patients at a maternity hospital in Gujarat's Rajkot have been allegedly leaked online.

A probe has been ordered after some clips appeared on Telegram and YouTube. The videos were captured at a labour room in Rajkot, PTI reported citing sources.

Seven video clips have been uploaded on the Megha MBBS YouTube channel. Users have been asked to pay Rs 999 to Rs 1500 to get full videos of the patients. The report claims that the Telegram channel has women taking a dip at the Maha Kumbh as its thumbnail.

"The accused had uploaded seven such videos on the Youtube channel and had given the link of a Telegram group in the description. Members of that group were asked to pay a fee to watch similar videos. To attract members to pay subscriptions, the accused had shared screen grabs of similar videos," PTI quoted Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Hardik Makadia as saying.

Responding to the incident, an official from Payal Hospital in Rajkot told reporters that their footage may have been hacked. "We have done nothing wrong and will fully cooperate with the police investigation," the hospital representative said.

An early investigation found that the accused had created a Telegram group linked to a YouTube channel where these videos were uploaded. The account was created in September.

Rajkot West BJP MLA Dr Darshita Shah has asked the authorities to investigate the case.
