Private staff appointment: PMO rejects proposals made by 4 ministers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given clear directions to his Council of Ministers to chose their office staff carefully. The PM had given strict orders not to appoint anyone close to UPA government.
According to sources, the PMO had turned down the choices made by four ministers for their private secretaries.
Minister Rajnath Singh wanted Alok Singh, a 1995 batch UP cadre officer, as his private secretary. However, the PM rejected his appointment as he had served as the personal secretary to former Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid.
