Principles above alliance says TDP while protesting against BJP
For us principles are above the preservation of the alliance the Telugu Desam Party has said. The TDP's MP, Rammohan Naidu made the statement while protesting against the BJP and forcing an adjournment motion in the Rajya Sabha over the lack of grant to Andhra Pradesh in the recently presented Union Budget 2018.

The TDP has scaled up its protests in both Houses of Parliament. Both the TDP and YSR Congress forced an adjournment in the Lok Sabha as well. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu is likely to convene a meeting of TDP leaders to discuss the next course of action.

While there is no truce in sight, sources indicate that the TDP is weary of breaking away from the BJP. They feel that if they were to break away then the YSR Congress is likely to take their place in the alliance. This was indicative when Rammohan Naidu said that the YSR Congress is trying to score brownie points over this issue by frequently visiting the Prime Minister's office.
We decided to fight against our own alliance for the betterment of Andhra Pradesh. We have chosen principles over our alliance, he also said. He further added that the patience of the people of Andhra Pradesh had been tested and hence this protest is absolutely necessary.
