President, PM greet nation on Durga Ashtami

New Delhi, Oct 9: President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted the nation on the occasion of Durga Ashtami.

"President Mukherjee extends his greetings on Maha Ashtami," said the official Twitter handle of the President.

Prime Minister Modi in a tweet said: "Durga Ashtami greetings to everyone."

Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami is one of the most auspicious days of ten-day long Durga Puja Festival.

This day is also known for 'Astra Puja' (weapons' worship) as the weapons of Goddess Durga are worshiped on this day.
