President greets Honduras on Independence Day

New Delhi, Sept 14: President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday extended his greetings and felicitations to the government and the people of Honduras on the country's Independence Day on September 15.

Pranab in his message to the President of Honduras said, "On behalf of the government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to convey to you and to the people of the Republic of Honduras warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your Independence Day."

He also said India and Honduras have a tradition of friendship and cooperation.

"I am confident that our relations will expand and deepen further in the years ahead. I look forward to working with you in reinforcing our warm and friendly ties."

Honduras is a central American country which got its independence from Spain on September 15, 1821.
