President expresses gratitude for support

New Delhi, Aug 19: President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday conveyed gratitude for the support extended to his family in their hour of bereavement.

The president's wife Suvra Mukherjee, who was ailing for some time, died on Tuesday in Delhi and was cremated on Wednesday.

"The president has conveyed that the empathy and solace offered at this time of grief have given his family and him the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss," an official statement issued here said.
