Preparations underway for last rites of Lakshmivara Thirtha Swamiji

Udupi, July 19: Preparations are underway for final rites of Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivara Thirtha after post-mortem has been conducted at KMC hospital in Manipal. Rituals to be conducted outside the mutt as per Hindu tradition.

The seer's mortal remains are currently being taken to Shiroor Moola Mutt from KMC hospital in Manipal. A Brindavan will be constructed at Moola Mutt where final rites will be performed.

However, devotees are irked with pontiffs of 8 Krishna mutts as none of the pontiffs have condoled the death of Lakshmivara Thirtha. According to reports, devotees who have gathered in front of express anger.

Western range IGP Arun Chakravarthy and SP visited Shiroor native mutt in Hiriyadka. Also, Commissioner of Police Lakshman Nimbargi visited the mutt. Cops are supervising security measures at the mutt.
