Premeditated Murder of Kidnapped Pune Student by Debt-Ridden Accused
The tragic demise of Bhagyashree Sude, a 22-year-old engineering student, has unveiled a premeditated crime orchestrated by her acquaintances, as revealed by Pune police on Wednesday. The investigation into Sude's kidnapping and murder has exposed a meticulously planned act by three individuals driven by financial desperation. The primary accused, Shivam Fulawale, along with Suresh Indure and Sagar Jadhav, orchestrated the kidnapping from Pune's Viman Nagar on March 30, with a grim outcome ensuing within hours.

According to Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, the motive behind this heinous act was financial extortion, driven by the accused's significant debts. Fulawale, who was also Sude's college friend and hailed from Latur like her, had suffered considerable financial losses in the share market. Another accomplice had faced losses due to an addiction to online rummy. Believing Sude's family to be affluent, they aimed to secure a ransom. However, their plan took a fatal turn early on.
The investigation revealed that the accused had not only planned the kidnapping but had also prepared for the disposal of Sude's body by digging a pit near Kamargaon on the outskirts of Ahmednagar. The tragic turn of events saw Sude losing her life due to suffocation after her mouth and nose were taped during the kidnapping attempt. Despite their initial plan to extort money, the culprits proceeded to dispose of her body in a premeditated manner.
Following Sude's death, the perpetrators attempted to cover their tracks by setting her body on fire and then burying it in the pit they had prepared. In a further attempt to extort money from her family, they demanded a ransom of Rs 9 lakh through messages sent from Sude's phone. The family's report of her missing on April 2 prompted an extensive investigation that led to the apprehension of the accused on April 7.
The police utilized technical surveillance to track down the movements of the accused across various locations before finally apprehending them. Upon confession, they led the police to the site where Sude's body was buried. Efforts are underway to recover items of evidence, including jewellery removed from Sude and sold in Mumbai. A vehicle hired for the crime has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
In pursuit of justice for Bhagyashree Sude, Pune police are consulting with Advocate Ujjwal Nikam for legal guidance to ensure a swift trial and seek maximum punishment for the culprits involved in this tragic incident. This case highlights not only the extreme lengths individuals may go to out of financial desperation but also the importance of swift and thorough investigative work by law enforcement agencies.
