Woman loses baby after verbal spat between 2 doctors in OT, Rajasthan HC orders strict action

The Rajasthan High Court which took cognisance of verbal spat between two doctors directed the Jodhpur collector to take strict action against the culprits. The court gave the administration time till 4 September to inform what action had been taken.
The High Court also added that the incident at Umaid Hospital had tarnished the image of both Jodhpur and medical world.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at Jodhpur's Umaid Hospital. What made the matters more complicated was that the patient, a pregnant woman lost her infant due to this verbal spat between doctors inside an operation theatre.
The doctor performing surgery on a patient, who remains unconscious, is seen engaged in a verbal spat with his colleagues and even threatens to assault him.
It's not clear what triggered the ugly spat inside an operation theatre, but the video proved just how insensitive these doctors are.
The incident is currently being investigated by the hospital authorities. Speaking to reporters on the ugly incident, Principal A L Bhat said that both doctors have been removed immediately and disciplinary action will be taken against them.
"When woman was admitted fetus was in distress, had a low heartbeat, still will probe reason for newborn's death" Superintendent, Umaid Hospital added.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan health minister has said that an enquiry committee has been set up and those guilty will be taken into account. No FIR has been lodged so far.
