Pre Poll Survey Chhattisgarh: Congress Expected To Win 45-51 Seats, Predicts ABP-CVoter Opinion Poll
As the Chhattisgarh Assembly election 2023 is slated to be held in two phases on November 7 and 17, the ABVP-CVoter Pre-Poll Survey for Chhattisgarh predicted a tough battle between Cogress and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to the latest ABP-CVoter survey, out of the total 90 seats, BJP is poised to secure between 39 to 45 seats, making a formidable bid for power. On the other side of the political spectrum, the Congress is expected to win an estimated 45 to 51 seats, seeking to strengthen its hold on the state's governance. Others are projected to win only 0 to 2 seats.

The ruling Congress, according to the ABP-CVoter survey, is poised to gain over 45 per cent of the total vote share. This marks an upswing of 2.2 per cent showing that the party is retaining its electoral support.
In contrast, the BJP is projected to secure around 43 per cent of the vote share, marking a significant increase of over 10 per cent. This suggests that the BJP has made substantial inroads and is posing a strong challenge to the incumbent Congress.
Others are projected to secure 11 per cent of votes, a decline of nearly 13 per cent of votes.
In 2018, the Congress achieved a remarkable comeback in the state, ending 15 years of BJP rule by securing 67 out of the total 90 seats. (This tally increased after the party's victories in bypolls.) Bhupesh Baghel assumed the role of the state's first OBC (Other Backward Classes) chief minister, in a region where this community comprises over 40% of the total population.
The Congress's victory five years ago was primarily attributed to factors such as anti-incumbency, rural distress, and the apparent dissatisfaction of BJP workers with the party's senior leadership.
