Prayagraj: Content Creator Slammed For Filming Sadhus Ordering Pizza At Mahakumbh

A content creator has faced criticism for filming a group of sadhus inside a pizza restaurant and sharing the footage on social media.

The Instagram account Prayagraj Xpress, which posts videos from the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela, shared the clip with the caption: "Bhai hum toh bhandara kha rahe hai aur baba pizza. Bahut kamayi hui hai baba logo ki." (While we are eating at 'bhandaras', these babas are eating pizza. Seems like they have earned a lot.)

OneIndia has not been able to verify whether the video was originally filmed by someone associated with Prayagraj Xpress or simply reshared from another content creator.

Interaction inside the restaurant

In the video, a woman can be heard speaking with four sadhus inside a Domino's outlet in Prayagraj, asking them about the pizza they had chosen.

"Pata nahi, beta. Abhi toh ₹150 waala khaya tha." (We don't know, child. Earlier, we ate the pizza that cost ₹150.), one of them responded. She then suggested they try the ₹250 pizza next, to which one of the sadhus politely asked her to buy it for them.

"Arey humare pass hote toh hum aapse bol rahe hote." (If I had money, why would I have asked you?), she replied.

Social media backlash

The video quickly gained traction, amassing nearly half a million views and drawing widespread criticism from social media users. Many condemned the woman for filming the sadhus in such a manner.

"Why are you behaving so cheaply? If you can't feed them, let them do whatever they want," one person commented.

"Sadhus get hungry too. What if they are eating pizza? They are not harming anyone," said another.

Others accused her of being disrespectful. "He asked you for food in such a gentle way. If you are not capable of paying for their meal, then don't make a video of them. You are just recording this to earn money," one comment read.
