Pradeep Gupta's Axis My India To Independently Release Exit Polls For Jharkhand, Maharashtra

Psephologist Pradeep Gupta announced on Wednesday that his firm, Axis My India, will independently release exit poll predictions for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections.

Previously, Pradeep Gupta collaborated with the India Today news channel to release exit poll predictions. However, Axis My India and the channel parted ways earlier this year after the firm's forecast for the 2024 general election missed the mark.

Axis My India had predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan, "Abki Baar 400 Paar."

The exit poll estimated the BJP would win between 322 and 340 seats, an increase from its 303 seats in 2019. However, the actual results saw the BJP falling short of a simple majority.

In the recent Haryana assembly election, Axis My India projected a clear majority for the Congress, forecasting 53-65 seats in the 90-member assembly. However, the BJP narrowly defeated Congress in a closely contested election.

Pradeep Gupta shared a poster on X today, directing viewers to access the predictions on the firm's website, www.axismyindia.org. The poster also indicated that Gupta would appear on three news channels.

Earlier this month, Gupta highlighted his company's success in predicting the outcome of the US election. On X, he stated: "As counting enters the final lap, Axis My America's prediction of Donald Trump getting elected as the next US President is spot on for both the popular vote and electoral votes. While many local pollsters missed the mark, Axis My America, a subsidiary of Axis My India, got it Bang on!"

Donald Trump went on to win the US presidential election.
