Post-Uri, world deserts India: Shiv Sena
Mumbai, Sep 26: India's "worldliness" in the past two years has proved meaningless since after the Uri terror attacks the whole world seems to have deserted India, the Shiv Sena said here on Monday.
"After Uri, many countries gave a tongue-lashing to terror, but we can swear that not a single nation has stood by India solidly," the Shiv Sena said in a stinging edit in the party mouthpiece Saamana here.

It pointed out how the condemnation of the incident by various nations was spun off as support to India by BJP supporters on the social media amid claims of Pakistan being isolated globally - but the reality was different.
"One such claim was Russia had slapped Pakistan by refusing to undertake joint military exercises, but it did no such thing ... Actually, the Russian military had reached Pakistan," said the Sena, an ally of the BJP at the Centre and in Maharashtra.
"Another was China is enraged at Pakistan, but on the contrary, China gave an assurance that it would support Pakistan if attacked ... Indonesia having old friendship with India also promised to give military support to Pakistan ...," said the Sena.
Turkey went a step further and at Pakistan's insistence, announced it would send a fact-finding mission to Jammu & Kashmir, while the OIC expressed support to Pakistan on the (Kashmir) issue.
Even Nepal preferred to continue good relations with Pakistan, the Sena said, adding that "beloved US President Barack Obama condemned terror without naming Pakistan - so all this is a slap for India".
"It was in the 1971 war when Russia stood by solidly with India and (the then PM) Indira Gandhi, but today nobody seems to be displaying such friendship," the Sena rued.
"You may scream at the top of your voices about isolating Pakistan on the global arena, but now the fear is whether India is not getting marginalised in the world," the Sena wondered.
All this (support) has further emboldened Pakistan which is now saying that Uri was a revenge for the atrocities in Jammu & Kashmir, thereby it (Pakistan) is taking responsibility for the terror strike.
"With all this, if Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's chest has puffed up to 56 inches, then its not because of machismo, but due to India's cowardice in such matters," the Sena said.
Pakistan has declared war long back and our soldiers' blood continues to flow, but our rulers in Delhi keep on issuing the final warning' to that country.
However, Pakistan's actions cannot be curbed by such verbal onslaught or oral warnings...
"We are compelled to say that we need somebody who can teach Pakistan a lesson in its own language. The country is in peril ... don't delay further ... This is also our final cry," the Sena said.
