Portfolio Distribution Among NDA Partners: Who Got What

It looks like leaders of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have prepared themselves to walk together and run the 18th Lok Sabha successfully. They contested Lok Sabha Election 2024 together, registered a victory and on Monday, portfolios were allocated to 72 cabinet ministers including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the new Narendra Modi Government, eleven members of alliance partners including JDU, TDP, Shiv Sena, LJP, HAM, Apna Dal and JDU (S) got ministerial berths. The post have been divided in such a manner that every alliance partner is happy and their top leadership thanked the Prime Minister along with a promise to serve their best.

Here are the key appointments and details about the new ministers in the Union Cabinet:

  1. Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu: The TDP MP, who has triumphed in the Srikakulam constituency for three consecutive terms, is the new Civil Aviation Minister.
  2. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani: This TDP leader, noted as the wealthiest candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has been appointed as the Minister of State for Rural Development and the Ministry of Communications.
  3. Prataprao Jadhav: Representing the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, he is the only leader from his party in the Union Council of Ministers. He has been designated as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
  4. Ram Nath Thakur: A prominent figure in Nitish Kumar's JDU, Thakur has been appointed as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He is a Rajya Sabha member and the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur.
  5. HD Kumaraswamy: The JDS leader, who served as Karnataka's Chief Minister in 2006, now holds the position of Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel after winning from the Mandya constituency.
  6. Jitan Ram Manjhi: As the first Chief Minister from Bihar's Musahar community and the leader of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), Manjhi now oversees the Union Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
  7. Ramdas Athawale: The head of the Republican Party of India - Athawale, he continues his service as Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, a role he held in the previous Modi cabinet.
  8. Chirag Paswan: Leading the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), which secured five Lok Sabha seats, Chirag Paswan joins the Union cabinet for the first time as the Minister of Food Processing Industries. He is the son of the late Ram Vilas Paswan.
  9. Jayant Chaudhary: The RLD leader and grandson of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, who was recently honored with the Bharat Ratna, is now the Minister of State for Education.
  10. Rajiv Ranjan Singh: Known as Lalan Singh, the JD(U) leader is a significant figure in Nitish Kumar's party. He has been assigned the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.
  11. Anupriya Patel: Representing Mirzapur and leading Apna Dal (Soneylal), Patel has been named Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
