Popular Tamil actor Selvakumar dies in road accident

New Delhi, Mar 12: Popular Tamil film and TV serial actor R Selvakumar, 59, died in a road accident at T Nagar in Chennai on Thursday.

According to a TOI report, "Police said Selvakumar, a resident of T Nagar, was returning home after a programme when the speedometer wire of his two-wheeler got entangled in the front wheel.

He lost control of the two-wheeler and fell on the road. The actor suffered head injuries and died on the spot. He was not wearing helmet."

Selvakumar sustained head injury and died on the spot, while his friend suffered minor injuries.

Having starred in nearly 300 films in small roles, Selvakumar is most popular for his work in "Anniyan" and "Ramanaa".

Selvakumar is survived by his wife K Geetha and two daughters.
