SC bans sale of firecrackers in Delhi

Expressing concern over pollution levels in national capital causing serious health issues to crores of people, SC directed Central Pollution Control Board to file a reply within 3 months regarding harmful effects of fire crackers.

Post Diwali, Delhi witnessed severe level of air quality, marked with low visibility. The reasons for this degradation of air quality were attributed to smoke due to firecrackers and negligible wind speed to disperse the pollutants.
