Poll polarised between those who like Modi, those who don't: AAP
Bangalore, April 12: The 2014 general election is polarised between those who like like Modi or those who dislike him, National Executive Member of Aam Admi Party Prithvi Reddy said today. "This election Lok Sabha 2014 appears to be one of the most polarised elections this country has seen," he told reporters here.
"Elections did not seem to be any more about issues, corruption or communalism. It seems to be polarised between those who like Modi or those who dislike Modi," he said. Stating that three years ago people came out on the roads demanding a strong Lokpal bill, he said, "there was anger in people against corruption in this country, but if you see this election somehow it does not seem to be about corruption at all."
Announcing the launch of a campaign called "Nanna hana nanage beku lekka" (I want account for my money) Reddy said "we are trying to tell people that they have right to ask for account of money they pay as tax, all the public spending has to be tendered and tender finalised has to be in public domain, not behind closed doors. Once the work gets implemented a social audit has to be done."
AAP also plans to appoint shadow corporators in each ward of Bangalore after elections, who will get information on the funds being utilised and the way of utilisation with the help of RTI and inform people about it. On the charges levelled against funding for AAP by its Ex-founding member Ashwini Upadhyay, he said "all details relating to funding for the party is clearly listed on our website; whenever someone starts a new party few people come for ticket and few people come to work for the country- it can be clearly seen why he is making such allegations now."
The AAP had recently expelled its national council member Ashwini Upadhyay for "anti-party activities" after he planned to move a proposal of removing Arvind Kejriwal as party National Convenor.
