Poll expenditures of candidates to be watched, says collector

All constituencies in the district were identified as poll expenditures and special shadow teams would be appointed to monitor expenses of contesting candidates, he said, adding that contestants would also have to open separate bank accounts to make payments for poll expenditures.
All officials should work according to Election Commission directives, he said. Officials have been told to bring about awareness on the importance of voting among masses in municipal, assembly and parliament elections, he said.
The collector has instructed officials to start control rooms in every constituency, equipped with phone and fax numbers. He said that during the final round of voter enrollment on March 9, officials would open special counters at all polling stations in the district, to give a chance to voters, to check their names in the voters' list.
