Politics of poison: Now BJP leader in Karnataka calls Sonia Gandhi ‘vishkanya’
It has become a free for all in Karnataka. While on one hand, Congress chief, Mallikarjun Kharge called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a 'poisonous snake,' on the other hand the BJP has hit out a Sonia Gandhi, but calling her a 'vishkanya' or venomous lady.
The statement was made by Karnataka BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil.

He said, "the whole world has accepted PM Modi. America had once upon a time refused to give him a visa. They later rolled out a red carpet and welcomed him. Now the Congress are comparing him to a cobra snake and say that he will spew venom. Is Sonia Gandhi a venomous woman? She worked with China and Pakistan as their agents."
The BJP leader was addressing a rally at Koppal in Yatnal.
His statement came a day after the 'poisonous snake' remark made by Kharge. " Modi is a like a poisonous snake. If you think it is poison or not and lick it, you are dead," Kharge had said.
The Congress has since faced a major backlash. Kharge went on to clarify that he was saying that the BJP is like a snake. If you try and lick it, you will ultimately die.
Reacting to the 'vishkanya' remark, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel said, "a Karnataka BJP MLA has called Sonia Gandhi a 'vishnkanya.' The people want to know what PM Modi and Amit Shah have to say on the issue."
The poll heat in Karnataka has been high. The campaigning has reached a feverish pitch as there are just twelve days remaining for the elections. Prime Minster Narendra Modi will hold back-to-back rallies in the state starting April 29 and ending May 7. The results of the elections will be declared on May 13.
