'Political terrorism' responsible for situation in J&K: BJP

, Nov 19: The BJP today said "political terrorism" was one of the factors responsible for the situation in

and the politicians in the state had been "exploiting" the people for their benefits.

"Among other factors, political terrorism is responsible for the situation in Jammu and Kashmir... We do not want to run the things like that," BJP leader and party in-charge of Kashmir affairs, Ramesh Arora told reporters here. Arora said people of the state have understood that BJP is the only option to take the state forward towards development and prosperity.

"There has been large-scale corruption which has led to unemployment, non-development and big projects not taking off here. People have now understood that BJP is the only option to take the state forward towards development and prosperity," he said. The BJP leader said the Assembly polls in the state were of "historical importance" as BJP was on its way to become an important player in the politics of the state.

"This poll is of historical importance as this is the first time that BJP is cruising ahead to achieve its Mission 44 Plus to be an important player. People should come out to vote in large numbers and vote for the BJP. For a democracy to flourish, this family rule has to be thrown away.

"We want to send signals to the world that in these times of change, Kashmir too is openly supporting the BJP and that in a way is supporting itself," he said. Arora said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to change the situation in the state.

"Modi has shown his commitment, with honesty and with an open heart just like Atal Bihari Vajpayee had, to change the situation in Jammu and Kashmir as like the country. You saw how he visited the state after the floods and announced packages," he said.
