Political Leaders from India Visit 33 Capitals to Address Terrorism Under Operation Sindoor

In a significant diplomatic initiative, 51 political figures, including parliamentarians and former ministers from various parties, will visit global capitals. This effort, part of Operation Sindoor, aims to convey India's determination to combat terrorism. The delegations, led by prominent leaders like Baijayant Panda and Ravi Shankar Prasad, will visit 32 countries and the EU headquarters in Brussels.

Indian Leaders Engage Globally on Terrorism

Each delegation consists of seven or eight political leaders and is supported by former diplomats. Among the 51 leaders, 31 belong to the ruling NDA, while 20 are from non-NDA parties. Importantly, every delegation includes at least one Muslim representative, either a politician or diplomat. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju emphasised this mission's unity by stating on X: "One mission. One message. One Bharat."

Delegation Leaders and Destinations

The delegation led by Baijayant Panda includes Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma (all BJP), Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM), Satnam Sandhu (nominated), former minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, and former foreign secretary Harsh Shringla. They will travel to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria.

Ravi Shankar Prasad's group comprises Daggubatti Purandeswari (BJP), Priyanka Chaturvedi (SS-UBT), Ghulam Nabi Khatana (nominated), Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), former Union minister M J Akbar, and former diplomat Pankaj Saran. Their destinations include the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the EU, Italy, and Denmark.

Additional Delegations and Their Itineraries

Sanjay Kumar Jha from JDU leads a team with Aparajita Sarangi (BJP), Yusuf Pathan (Trinamool), Brij Lal (BJP), John Brittas (CPI-M), Pradan Barua (BJP), Hemang Joshi (BJP), former minister Salman Khurshid, and former diplomat Mohan Kumar. They will visit Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore.

Shrikant Shinde of Shiv Sena heads a group including Bansuri Swaraj (BJP), E T Mohammed Basheer (IUML), Atul Garg (BJP), Sasmit Patra (BJD), Manan Kumar Mishra (BJP), former minister S S Ahluwalia, and former diplomat Sujan Chinoy. Their journey covers the UAE, Liberia, Congo, and Sierra Leone.

Further Delegations

The delegation under Shashi Tharoor consists of Shambhavi (LJP-RV), Sarfaraz Ahmed (JMM), G M Harish Balayogi (TDP), Shashank Mani Tripathi (BJP), Bhubaneshwar Kalita (BJP), Milind Deora (Shiv Sena), Tejasvi Surya (BJP) and former diplomat Taranjit Sandhu. They will travel to the US, Panama, Guyana, Colombia, and Brazil.

Kanimozhi's team includes Rajeev Rai (SP), Mian Altaf Ahmad (NC), Brijesh Chowta (BJP), Prem Chand Gupta (RJD), Ashok Kumar Mittal (AAP) along with former diplomats Manjeev Puri and Jawed Ashraf. Their destinations are Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia.

Supriya Sule leads a group with Rajeev Pratap Rudy (BJP), Vikramjit Sahney (AAP), Manish Tewari (Congress), Anurag Thakur (BJP), Lavu SriKrishna Devarayalu (TDP). Former ministers V Muraleedharan and Anand Sharma along with former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin are also part of this team visiting Egypt, Qatar, Ethiopia, and South Africa.

This extensive diplomatic outreach underscores India's commitment to addressing global terrorism collaboratively. By engaging with multiple nations through diverse political representation, India aims to strengthen international ties against terrorism.
