Policeman killed in accidental firing in Assam
Guwahati, Aug 13: An Assam Police Battalion personnel was killed and another injured in an accidental firing at Karbi Anglong district in Assam on Saturday morning, police said.
Police said the firing took place at Rongbongway police station in Karbi Anglong, about 250 kms from Guwahati. An investigation was on to ascertain further leads.

"There was an accidental firing in the barrack of jawans inside Rongbongway police station. Two jawans were injured and one of them was declared brought dead by the doctors in a local hospital," a police official said.
"The other jawan is being shifted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH)," he said.
