Police and Security Forces Implement New Strategy Against Foreign Terrorists in Jammu Region
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently stated that security forces have devised a new approach to tackle foreign terrorists infiltrating Jammu. These infiltrations aim to disrupt the peace in the region, which has been stable for 15-16 years. Pakistan has been attempting to disturb this calm for the past year and a half, according to Sinha.

In recent months, there have been incidents where soldiers lost their lives due to terrorist activities. The Jammu and Kashmir police, along with security forces, have developed a new strategy to address these threats. Sinha mentioned that the police have trained personnel and increased their presence in affected areas. The army and CRPF have also bolstered their presence, particularly in higher-altitude regions.
Security Measures and Challenges
The unique geography and weather of Jammu, including maize crops in fields, have posed challenges for security operations. Over the next few months, efforts will focus on eliminating these foreign terrorists. As peace returned previously, forces were reduced, and camps were removed from higher areas. However, recent attacks south of the Pir Panjal range have raised concerns among security agencies.
Ground observations indicate a strategic shift by Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. They appear to be concentrating more on Jammu than Kashmir. By the end of July, 11 soldiers, including an IAF airman, were killed in Jammu. In contrast, three terrorists were neutralized in the region.
Impact on Security Forces
Since 2021, 34 soldiers have been martyred while 40 terrorists have been killed in Jammu. This highlights the ongoing struggle between security forces and terrorist elements. The situation underscores the need for continued vigilance and strategic adjustments by security agencies.
Sinha explained that as peace returned to Jammu in the past, deployment was reduced. However, with the recent surge in attacks, there is a renewed focus on increasing force presence in vulnerable areas. The aim is to restore stability and prevent further infiltration attempts.
The Lieutenant Governor's comments reflect the seriousness of the situation and the commitment of security forces to maintain peace in Jammu. The new strategy aims to counteract terrorist activities effectively and ensure safety for residents in the region.
