Police arrest three for gangraping minor in Goregaon

Mumbai, Nov 5: Police officials have arrested three people in connection with the gangrape case of 16-year-old in

on November 1.

Dindoshi police said that four of the accused could be minors whereas the other two were adults. Police officials also added that the victim admitted that the accused gave her soft drink which was laced with drugs, following which she was gangraped by them.

The two accused who were known to the victim called her on the pretext of celebrating Diwali and later offered to drop her home. That is when the two accused called the others and gangraped her in a deserted tunnel.

The incident comes to light three months after a photojournalist was gangraped in the Shakti Mills compound by five men and one juvenile.

The minor is a school dropout and lives in a chawl with her grandmother, brother and sister-in-law.
