Police appoints 3-women cop panel to investigate Murthal ‘rapes’
Murthal, Feb 27: In the wake of gangrapes on the National Highway in Haryana, the police has appointed a 3-member woman cops' panel to investigate the matter.
Headed by DIG Rajshree Singh, the team would constitute DSPs Bharti Dabas and Surinder Kaur. Meanwhile, the Punjab and the Haryana Courts have asked the women to come forward and lodge a complaint directly to the judicial magistrate.

In the mean time, Sonipat SP Abhishek Garg collected a few pieces of woman's clothing from areas near NH1 in Murthal. The DGP said,"We are making all efforts to get the details about the alleged incident but nobody has come forward so far." However, he refuted charges that police personnel might be trying.
Singhal further added that principal secretary and an IG had visited the site, but did not find any evidence. "These women officers would be stationed in Sonipat till further orders. Any victim can approach them with any information concerning the incident. Evidence can be brought to notice in any form, including audio or video clips or photographs."
He also assured that the identity of the informers would not be disclosed. The information could be passed on to the panel round the clock.
