POK refugees hold protests in Jammu
Jammu, May 14: Demanding permanent rehabilitation in the country, members of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) refugees today held a protest against the failure of the central and J&K governments to fulfill their demands.
The members of the PoK refugees association, including, women from different areas also accused the successive state governments of turning a "blind eye" toward their issues and were demanding Rs 25 lakh compensation for each of the refugee families.

"State government has submitted a a proposal for full and final settlement of PoK refugees but Union government has failed to address the issue," refugee leader Rashpal Singh said.
"The parties had kept these programmes concerning refugees in their manifestos but after formation of the government we are still awaiting the package," he said.
"During election campaigns leaders of various political parties come and make promises, but as soon as they come to power they forget all the promises," protesters said.
