PM's low qualification dangerous for country: Sisodia writes from jail

An embittered Manish Sisodia, who is languishing in jail for his involvement in the infamous Delhi liquor scam and money-laundering case, has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his education qualification. He claimed that a "less educated" PM is very dangerous for the country.

In an open letter, the former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister has written from behind the bars: "The youths of the country are aspirational. They want to do something. They are in search of the opportunity. They want to conquer the world. They want to do something in science and technology. Is a lesser educated PM capable of fulfilling dreams of the youth?"

He claimed that over 60,000 government schools have been shut across the country in the last few years.

"I saw a video of PM Modi in which he proudly says he is not educated and has taken education in village school. Is it proud thing to be uneducated or lesser educated? A good education cannot be made available to a child of a common man in a country whose Prime Minister is proud of being less educated. A well-educated man is searched for a post of a manager in a company, so shouldn't the biggest manager of a country be educated?" Sisodia said in the letter.

He further said that it 'disheartens' him to see PM Modi talking about making tea from polluted gas out of "dirty drains". "When the Prime Minister talks about how radars will not be able to detect jets in cloudy weather, he becomes a laughingstock for the whole world. Students in schools and colleges make fun of him," Sisodia added.

Last week, Gujarat High Court set aside an order of Central Information Commission (CIC) asking Gujarat University and Delhi University to provide information on PM Modi's degrees to AAP supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. The court also imposed a cost of Rs 25,000 on Kejriwal and asked him to deposit the amount within four weeks with Gujarat State Legal Services Authority (GSLSA).

AAP had raised the issue in 2016 also and then BJP chief Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had displayed Modi's degrees at a press conference to debunk its allegations and demanded an apology from the Delhi Chief Minister for trying to defame Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
