PM reviews security scene, women safety at police meet
Rann of Kutch (Gujarat), Dec 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reviewed country's security situation, especially on terrorism and women safety, with top police officers and took briefing from them during the annual conference of DGPs and IGs being held here.
On the second day of the conference, the Prime Minister attended various theme-based sessions where officers shared insightful presentations.

"It has been a fruitful day at DGPs conference in Kutch. The presentations and sessions were on security related matters, terrorism , cyber security, women's safety, disaster management," Modi said in a tweet.
Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister attended the morning Yoga session along with the delegates and Directors General of Police (DGPs) and Inspector General (IGs) of Police from various states and central police organisations. He also witnessed the sunrise at the white Rann.
Theme-based presentations on various aspects of policing marked the day as the Prime Minister joined the deliberations, an official statement said. Modi observed and listened to the interactions on security-related matters including terrorism, cyber-security, digital technology, women's safety and disaster management.
The presentations, break-out sessions and interactions over meals were scheduled for a total of 13 hours today.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Ministers of State for Home Kiren Rijiju and Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary were present during the sessions. On the inaugural day of the conference yesterday, the Home Minister had raised serious concerns over radicalisation of youths through social media and other online forums.
He had said the activities of dreaded terrorist group ISIS have been witnessed in India and their is concern over radicalisation of youths through social media and other online forums. Singh had also said the ISIS has been trying to enhance its foothold in India's neighbourhood -- in Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
"It is a fact that the ISIS activities have increased globally and India is not isolated from it. Besides, there are problems of radicalisation of youths through social media and other online forums," he said and sought concerted efforts to tackle the problem.
