PM Narendra Modi invites ideas for his visit to Australia

New Delhi, Nov 11: As he embarked on a three-nation tour that will also take him to Australia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday invited ideas and thoughts for his visit to that country.

"Do keep sharing thoughts & ideas for the visit. Here is a great place to keep updated on the visit," Modi tweeted.
He also gave a link of the website where the ideas could be shared by people.

A fortnight ago too, he had asked people to share their ideas and thoughts on important issues for Indians, including those living in Australia.

He had said that during his Australia visit, he would be attending a variety of programmes, including an interaction with the Indian community there.

"I want to hear ideas and thoughts from all of you, including friends in Australia and the Indian community there on my visit," the Prime Minister had then tweeted.

Modi's first stop will be Myanmar, where he will attend East Asia Summit (EAS) on November 12-13 in the Myanmar capital Nay Pyi Taw. From there, he will go to Brisbane for a G-20 meet on November 15-16.

From Brisbane, Modi will travel to Canberra to hold a bilateral meeting with Australian counterpart Tony Abbott on November 18. This will be second meeting between the two leaders after Abbott visited India last month during which the two countries inked the civil nuclear cooperation agreement.

From Australia, he is likely to go to Fiji on November 19.

Modi, who will be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Australia since Rajiv Gandhi in 1986, will deliver an address to a joint sitting of federal parliament.

"Summits, important bilaterals, meeting over 40 world leaders. Leaving for Myanmar, Australia & Fiji," the Prime Minister said in another tweet.

He also paid tributes to noted freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Gandhian and socialist Acharya J B Kripalani.

"Tributes to Acharya Kripalani on his birth anniversary. His ideals & strong commitment to serve the poor continue to inspire.

"Scholar, freedom fighter & a man who devoted his life towards nation building, I salute Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on his birth anniversary," Modi said.
