PM Narendra Modi In Bihar: 'Will Make Pakistan Wear Bangles If...'; Sparks Controversy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a sharp comment directed at the INDIA bloc regarding remarks made by Farooq Abdullah and Mani Shankar Aiyar, stating that Pakistan would be made to wear bangles if it was not already doing so. The remark by PM Modi comes while campaigning in Bihar.

Earlier this month, a statement by National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah in response to Rajnath Singh's assertion about reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) implied that Pakistan possessed atomic bombs capable of harming India and was not to be underestimated.

PM Modi, while speaking in Bihar's Muzaffarpur, highlighted the economic challenges faced by Pakistan, remarking that if Pakistan was not wearing bangles, they would be made to wear them. He mentioned Pakistan's lack of flour and electricity, and humorously implied a scarcity of bangles as well, without explicitly naming Abdullah or Aiyar, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Last week, an old video featuring Congress veteran Mani Shankar Aiyar went viral, in which he urged the Indian government to "respect Pakistan" due to its possession of atomic bombs.

Reacting to these remarks, PM Modi stated last week that the Congress had been attempting to instill fear in the people of the country, suggesting that such a timid approach had previously encouraged cross-border terrorism. He also made a jest at Pakistan, claiming that India's estranged neighbor had attempted to sell its bombs but found no buyers due to their poor quality.

PM Modi also announced that his government had seized illegal funds amounting to ₹2200 crore over the past 10 years. During a speech in Hajipur, PM Modi accused the RJD and Congress of prioritizing their vote bank over the welfare of the people of Bihar. He criticized the RJD for bringing "Jungle Raj" to the state, as per media reports.

Referring to Lalu Prasad Yadav's statement about Muslims deserving reservation, PM Narendra Modi warned that the Congress and RJD would attempt to take away the reservation provided to Dalits, backwards, and tribals by the Constitution.

He also alleged that the leaders of the Congress and the RJD were preoccupied with securing positions for their own children.
