PM Modi's Varanasi Visit Schedule: PM-KISAN Benefits And Krishi Sakhi Training In Focus
PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, during which the 17th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme will be distributed, on Tuesday evening, June 18.
This initiative aims to benefit over 9.26 crore farmers with more than ₹20,000 crore in financial assistance.

PM-KISAN Benefits And Krishi Sakhi Training In Focus
Certificates will also be distributed to more than 30,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) trained as Krishi Sakhis, who serve as para extension workers in agriculture, as reported by Hindustan Times. The event will witness the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and several state ministers.
PM Modi's Varanasi Visit Schedule:
1. Arrival: Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to land at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur around 4 pm.
2. PM Kisan Samman Sammelan: At 5 pm, Modi will attend the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan where he will release an instalment of Samman Nidhi. This will directly benefit 2,76,665 farmers in Kashi (Varanasi). During this event, Modi will also meet with 21 farmers to review their agricultural produce, as per media reports.
3. Ganga Aarti: Around 7 pm, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi's famous Dashashwamedh Ghat, a spiritual and cultural highlight of the visit.
4. Visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple: At 8 pm, Modi will visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, CEO of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, arrangements have been made for the Prime Minister's stay inside the temple for about 25 minutes.
PM Modi's Varanasi Visit - Event Details
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare announced that over 2.5 crore farmers will participate in the event. This engagement will be facilitated across 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), 5 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) nationwide, and more than 1 lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Special events are planned at 50 selected Krishi Vikas Kendras (KVKs), where a substantial number of farmers will gather. Union Ministers will join these events to interact with farmers directly.
Educational Focus
Farmers participating in the event will receive guidance on:
- Good farming practices
- Adoption of new agricultural technologies
- Climate-resilient farming techniques
Additionally, farmers will be informed about:
- Checking their PM-KISAN beneficiary status and payment details
- Using the Kisan-eMitra Chatbot for queries and assistance
Distribution of Certificates:
Union Ministers will also distribute certificates to trained Krishi Sakhis in the region. These certificates recognize the role of Krishi Sakhis as para extension workers supporting agricultural activities and rural development.
The visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Varanasi underscores the government's commitment to rural welfare and agricultural development, providing direct support to millions of farmers through the PM-KISAN scheme and promoting sustainable agricultural practices across India.
