PM Modi Visits LNJP Hospital To Meet Red Fort Blast Survivors, Vows Swift Justice

Prime Minister Narendra Modi walked into LNJP Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, meeting survivors of the devastating Red Fort blast that shook Delhi two days ago. The explosion - a high-intensity car blast near the Red Fort Metro Station - killed 12 people and injured nearly 20 others, prompting the national capital to go on high alert.

Modi, who returned from a two-day visit to Bhutan earlier in the day, spent time with the injured and their families before heading into an emergency security meeting. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), which he chairs, will meet this evening at 5:30 pm to assess the situation and review the ongoing investigation.

A City on Edge

Since Monday night, Delhi has resembled a fortress. Heavily armed Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed at all major intersections, metro stations, and highways. Every vehicle entering or leaving the city is being checked, and search operations are underway across multiple districts.

The blast - triggered by a slow-moving Hyundai i20 car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro - tore through evening traffic, scattering debris and panic across one of Delhi's busiest zones. Forensics teams later confirmed traces of military-grade explosives.

Even as he addressed an event in Bhutan's Changlimethang Stadium on Tuesday, the Prime Minister's tone reflected deep concern.

"I came here with a heavy heart," he told the gathering, recalling the moment he was informed about the Delhi tragedy. "The horrifying incident that took place has left us all deeply distressed. The nation stands united with the families who have lost their loved ones."

Modi revealed that he was in constant contact with intelligence and security agencies through Monday night. "Our agencies are connecting every piece of information. The perpetrators will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice," he asserted.

Terror Network Under the Lens

Investigators now suspect the blast was part of a larger terror conspiracy. A day before the explosion, security forces in Faridabad had arrested eight people, including three doctors, and seized 2,900 kg of explosives. The probe indicated links to terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, with operatives active across Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Sources have identified Dr Umar, Dr Muzammil, and Dr Adil Ahmed Dar as members of this so-called "white-collar" terror module. With the terror link now established, the case has been formally handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

As Delhi tightens its security grid, the focus now shifts to tracing the masterminds behind the deadly plot - a task that, as the Prime Minister vowed, will stop at nothing short of justice.
