PM Modi's Vision Paves The Way For Goa's Infrastructure Renaissance
In the sun-drenched haven of India's west coast, Goa's network of highways and roads weaves through a vibrant tapestry, painting a picture of exploration and serenity. The true magic of Goa's highways lies in their ability to transport you not just from one place to another but from the mundane to the extraordinary.
Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Goa's infrastructure development has witnessed a transformative journey. With new projects worth Rs 15,000 crore announced, Goa is poised for a remarkable infrastructural renaissance.

One such marvel is the Atal Setu, a cable-stayed bridge connecting Panaji and Porvorim, and the New Zuari Bridge, linking North and South Goa. The Atal Setu, inaugurated in 2019, has become one of the most heavily used bridges in Goa, with nearly 66,000 vehicles traversing it daily. The New Zuari Bridge inaugurated in 2022 and the second-longest cable-stayed bridge in India, has alleviated traffic congestion during peak hours and tourist seasons.
Goa's infrastructure development extends beyond bridges, with the Manohar Parrikar Canacona bypass, opened in 2019, connecting Char Rasta with Polem and reducing travel distance from 21 km to just 7 km. This bypass includes three bridges and six underpasses, further enhancing connectivity.
In the heart of Goa, the Calvim and Virdi Bridges stand as engineering marvels, linking communities and cultures. The Calvim Bridge is a vital lifeline for North Goa residents, facilitating smooth passage between Mapusa and Aldona, while the Virdi Bridge plays a pivotal role in connecting the villages of Ponda and Marcel.
Under PM Modi's leadership, the Central Government has announced new projects in Goa worth Rs 1,200 crore for the Kalamboli Junction and Pagode Junction Chowk to Greenfield Highway, as well as the Rs 13,000 crore Morbe-Karanjade highway connecting Delhi via JNPA. These initiatives are set to start soon, further bolstering Goa's infrastructure prowess.
PM Modi's vision for Goa's transportation infrastructure is a catalyst for economic prosperity and sustainable development, enriching the lives of residents and visitors alike. Through strategic planning and investment, the government aims to bolster economic growth, improve transportation efficiency, and foster social cohesion, paving the way for Goa's infrastructure renaissance.
