Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan

At the forefront of the initiative is the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, a comprehensive program that will be executed at a projected cost of Rs 79,150 crore. This scheme is designed to foster holistic development for tribal communities, addressing crucial aspects of social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood.

Target Beneficiaries: The initiative is expected to benefit over 5 crore tribals across 549 districts in 30 states and Union Territories.

Interventions: The program encompasses 25 targeted interventions facilitated by 17 central ministries and departments, focusing on eliminating barriers to development faced by tribal populations.

PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN)

In addition to the Dharti Aaba Abhiyan, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for numerous projects under the PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), valued at over Rs 1,360 crore. Key highlights of this initiative include:

Infrastructure Development: Construction of more than 1,380 km of roads, significantly improving connectivity in rural tribal areas.

Educational Facilities: Establishment of 120 anganwadi centres and 10 school hostels to promote education and early childhood development in tribal regions.

Multi-Purpose Centres: Creation of 250 multi-purpose centres aimed at providing various services to the community.

Electrification and Health Initiatives

One of the significant announcements made by the Prime Minister was the electrification of over 75,800 households belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) across approximately 3,000 villages. This step is vital for improving the quality of life and enabling economic development in these underserved areas.

Furthermore, to bolster healthcare access in remote regions, the Prime Minister announced the operationalisation of 275 mobile medical units and the establishment of 500 additional anganwadi centres. These units will play a crucial role in providing healthcare services to tribal populations, ensuring they receive timely medical assistance.

Water Supply and Livelihood Development

The initiative also focuses on enhancing water supply infrastructure. The provision of piped water (Nal se Jal) to more than 5,550 PVTG villages will ensure that tribal communities have access to clean drinking water, which is essential for health and sanitation.

Additionally, the establishment of 250 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras is aimed at promoting livelihood opportunities through the sustainable use of forest resources, providing training and support for value addition and marketing of forest products.

Event Attendance and Government Commitment

The event witnessed the presence of several prominent figures, including Union Ministers Jual Oram, Annapurna Devi, and Sanjay Seth, reflecting the government's commitment to uplifting tribal communities.

In his address, PM Modi emphasized the importance of these projects in improving the living standards of tribal populations, reinforcing the government's dedication to ensuring that no community is left behind in India's growth journey.

Overall, the unveiling of these projects not only signifies a substantial investment in tribal welfare but also highlights the government's proactive approach to addressing the unique challenges faced by tribal communities across the nation.
